How veneers transform dental flaws

Veneers are one of the easiest, most versatile ways to create a more perfect, symmetrical smile. Veneers adhere to the front surface of your teeth so they cover up a variety of common dental imperfections, like chips, cracks, or discoloration. You might also consider veneers to improve the spacing between teeth, close a gap, or make the shape of each tooth more uniform.

Veneers are made from porcelain or composite resin, so they look and feel like natural teeth. We custom design your veneers to fit your teeth and help accomplish your cosmetic dental goals. Depending on the condition of your smile, you may benefit from just one veneer, or you may need as many as eight or more to create a smooth, symmetrical smile.

The veneer process is simple

There’s a bit of prep work involved in creating your custom veneers, but overall, it’s a relatively simple process. First, we fit each individual tooth for your new veneers by making a mold of your teeth. Depending on whether you choose to take the traditional route, or if you opt for porcelain Emax® veneers, it can take just one visit to our office or a couple appointments.

Emax veneers are a state-of-the-art option that we design and cement to the front surface of your teeth in the same day. That means you don’t have to wait for the mold to go to the lab where your custom veneers are made. Either way, we prepare the front surface of your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel so the veneers fit perfectly into place.

During veneer application, our team thoroughly cleans your teeth first to make sure they’re free of tartar and bacteria. After preparing the surface of your teeth, we use a cement-like substance to bind the veneers to your teeth. After we use an ultraviolet light to cure the adhesive, your veneers become a permanent part of your new, improved smile.

Why would I consider veneers?

You might consider veneers for a variety of reasons. For example, you can benefit from porcelain veneers if you have:

Veneers also add strength to your teeth and protect the surface of your teeth from damage.

Plus, veneers are minimally invasive and easy to maintain. With minimal dental work, you can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile, fix dental flaws, and have more beautiful teeth for 15 years or more.

Veneers are stain-resistant, too, so as long as you brush and floss your teeth to maintain good oral hygiene, you can enjoy a whiter, more perfectly aligned smile without worry of maintaining their new, brighter shade of white.
